I will introduce a very simple social interaction model of information transmission, opinion formation and consensus formation by De Groot. We will study sufficient and necessary conditions to converge to a consensus in very simple networks. Building on this, I will introduce how we can modify the model to make it resemble real life networks. If time permits, I will try to show how the convergence is affected when interaction is noisy.
